This sparkling high voice arrangement brings together the two best-known versions of this powerful hymn. The opening verse allows the vocalist to soar above the driving scales of the accompaniment. The second verse intertwines the vocal part and the accompaniment to form an interesting Baroque-style counterpoint. The vocal part is straightforward while the piano accompaniment drives the arrangement to a powerful ending. The piano accompaniment for this arrangement is very challenging.
